Job Description

Our client, a globally recognised organisation with a highly respected and long-established brand is seeking to appoint a Head of Compliance on a permanent basis. This is a senior leadership role with direct management responsibility for a team of 2–3 Senior Managers. The role sits at the heart of the business and is responsible for shaping and embedding a strong compliance culture while enabling sustainable, risk-aware growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, delivery and ongoing enhancement of a business-wide risk and compliance framework, including the identification of key risks and the implementation of proportionate policies, processes and controls aligned to the organisation’s risk profile.

  • Establish clear ownership and accountability across first and second lines, ensuring effective governance structures are defined and embedded.

  • Develop and implement consistent operating models and RACI structures across central teams, local markets and Group functions to ensure clarity and alignment.

  • Serve as the key liaison with Group Risk and Regulatory stakeholders, maintaining strong, collaborative and effective working relationships.

  • Design and oversee compliance training and awareness initiatives to strengthen organisational understanding of compliance, ethics and risk.

  • Take a leading role in governance forums, including risk and compliance committees, providing clear reporting on KPIs, control effectiveness, audit findings and remediation actions.

  • Produce high-quality, insight-led reporting for senior leadership to support informed strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation, including Internal Audit and other assurance functions.

  • Provide independent, commercially pragmatic advice to executive and senior leaders on risk decisions, mitigation approaches and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee compliance involvement in commercial activity, including customer engagements and product or service development, ensuring risks are appropriately assessed and managed.

  • Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing compliance team, ensuring capability to deliver robust oversight across multiple jurisdictions.

About You

  • You are an established compliance and/or risk leader with substantial experience in regulated, multinational environments.

  • You bring strong expertise in the design and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks, alongside a deep understanding of regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management.

  • You are confident operating at Executive and Board level, with the credibility to influence, advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.

  • You have a proven ability to drive cultural change and embed risk-aware decision-making across large organisations.

  • You are a strong communicator, capable of simplifying complex regulatory and risk issues into clear, practical guidance.

  • You excel in stakeholder management, with a track record of building trusted relationships and aligning diverse stakeholders in matrixed environments.

  • You have experience working across multiple jurisdictions and understand the challenges of operating within varied regulatory frameworks.

This is a high-impact leadership role, offering the chance to shape and strengthen the compliance agenda of a complex international organisation while working closely with senior stakeholders to enable responsible, sustainable growth.
